North Texas Dining Out: An Evening with Art Athens

COL Art Athens, Director of USNA's Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership, headlines this event in appreciation of our membership at the Gaylord Texan

Get ready for our "North Texas Dining Out" event, an early evening cocktail reception and party at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine! We've wanted to do a classy and fun event with an amazing speaker for some time. Our membership has supported every effort of the chapter so generously and graciously over the years that we want to share the love! So, although this will be a no-expense spared event, the chapter will shoulder the majority of the cost.

Check out the bonus features and special guests below! Everyone in our North Texas Alumni Community is welcome and encouraged to attend – even older kids! See below!

Speakers

Our keynote speaker will be the riveting COL Art Athens, USMC (Ret), Director of the U.S. Naval Academy’s Vice Admiral James B. Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership and a member of the Academy’s Senior Leadership Team. He spoke at the Chapter Officer's Forum in Annapolis in May. It's tough to impress a bunch of salty old Alumni, but he had all of us ready to reenlist. Click here for his full biography. A written description cannot convey the impact this speaker has, so we are sharing a few links to see for yourself.

"What's Love Got to Do With It?"
"Leading with Stories
"Leading from your Sweet Spot
"Leading in the Midst of the Storm

Just before COL Art Athens takes the floor, Bill Dawson from the US Naval Academy Foundation will discuss the upcoming capital campaign launch

We are also thrilled to announce that Dave Miller, Class of 1965, will provide the 3rd Annual and much-anticipated Navy Football Preview!

The Young Alumni Pre-Party/Happy Hour
This one is for the younger alumni! All those graduating in roughly 1995 or later are encouraged to show the rest of us how it is done! The pre-party is also included in your ticket to attend North Texas Dining Out! This will be the best $15 (or $45 to become a member and pick-up a member ticket) you will ever spend.

Here are the details:

Food
The event will offer heavy hors d'oeuvres (salads, street tacos, mac and cheese bar, BBQ and cake) throughout the evening, but you may want a bit more later on. Take this opportunity to plan a dinner with others at one of great restaurants in the Gaylord or nearby Grapevine afterwards.

Room availability is extremely low, so act quickly. ***If you do book a room, you MUST email our chapter administrator, Stacie at Stacie@SACLeadership.com, to put your name on the confirmation list for the government and military rate.

Follow this link to get started: http://www.marriott.com/gaylord-hotels/travel.mi. You will want to select the Gaylord Texan, the proper dates AND do not forget to click “Government and Military” under Special Rates. A typical room should come up listed at ~$152.00.

Highlighted benefits include ~$100 savings, wifi access in room, full access to the water park and free parking for both days you are there according to our events manager.

Name Tags
Thank you to all renewing chapter members and new members for updating your profiles! As promised, we will have your shiny new name tag waiting for you at the check-in table. ALL chapter members should check for a name tag, including those recently becoming a member.

USNA Officially Licensed Tumblers
So many people ask if the chapter has USNA swag to sell, and we always say no . . . until now! We are making these very nice 30 oz insulated tumblers available for pick-up at the North
Texas Dining Out event. They can also be mailed to those unable to attend.

They keep liquids hot for 8 hours and cold for 24!

We sold out of all 25. The tumblers designated for shipping have already gone out. The rest can be picked up at the event.

Pricing
This event is heavily underwritten by the chapter as a thank you to the membership! If you are not a current member, consider becoming a member now to take advantage of the special member pricing below.
•    $15 for members and all their guests.
•    $25 for Parents Club and Associate Members
•    $35 for non-members
