Answers to some common questions:

  • Why can't I buy something online?  The likely cause is that the security settings on your internet browser are set too high.  For Internet Explorer, click on the Tools menu, then on Internet Options.  Click on the Security tab, then move the slider to the medium setting.  Click on the Privacy tab, then move the slider to the medium setting.  Click on the OK button.
  • Do I need an email address?  No, but if you are reading this page, you have internet access, which means you can get an email address. We regularly distribute Chapter information via email, and very irregularly send paper mail. If you are using a PC/Mac at home, your internet service provider should provide email service. However, it may be simpler to get an internet-based email from one of the many free email providers. This service allows you to check your email from any PC/Mac connected to the internet, and requires no configuration of your PC/Mac. Two of the most popular providers are Microsoft Hotmail (click here) and Yahoo (click here).
  • How can I get Chapter information if I don't use the internet regularly?  We mail an annual schedule to all known alumni in the DFW area early each year.  The chapter news section of Shipmate magazine includes Chapter information; look for us under the state of Texas.
  • How do I Bookmark this Website?   To add our site to your Favorites in Internet Explorer, go to our homepage (click on the USNAAA seal in the upper left). Then click on the 'Favorites' menu, then click on 'Add to Favorites', select a folder to add the link to, then click on 'OK'. In Firefox and Netscape, click on the 'Bookmarks' menu, then select "Bookmark this page', then 'OK' in the window that opens.
  • What is Secure Processing?  The pages on our website and on PayPal pages where your check/credit card information are entered use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) processing. This makes an encrypted link between your PC and the Wells Fargo server, so that your information cannot be read by someone else.  Once you complete the transaction, your account number and address information are verified automatically, and only your name and address are provided to us for processing your membership or other purchase.
